Built circa 1898 by local businessman H. A. Bundy, the original house was designed to be built ‘out in the bush’. The owners operated a small tearoom in the hustle and bustle of Katoomba main street, but wanted to escape further out. The building has since enjoyed housing many venues such as a private school, guesthouse and even at one stage one of the first churches in the area. Finally having been lovingly restored over the last century it has now become firmly established as an exclusive restaurant overlooking the leafy garden.
Pins, formerly known as Pins And Noodles, originated in Katoomba Street some 20 years ago and moved to Leura village before finally coming to rest in Lurline Street, hence the new name, ‘Pins On Lurline’.
Run by owners - Japanese Wife/Scottish husband, the food is an eclectic menu of Italian pastas, rice dishes and Japanese noodles, with a few contemporary Australian dishes thrown in for good measure.
Our concept has always been guided to incorporate fresh local produce and create everything in-house to put onto a menu which is both exciting yet very affordable.
The Japanese noodles are hand made everyday, which became a permanent feature on the menu, alongside freshly baked sour dough bread, luscious desserts and home made ice creams.
